rAge report numero uno

News rAge report numero unoSo, we’re at the halfway point of the 2009 rAge expo. Not exactly the halfway point, mind you, but it’s difficult to divide 3 days into two equal pieces unless you’re willing to abandon the world of integers and descend into the murky realms of *shudder* real numbers.

The bunch of us from Game.Dev (and therefore Dev.Mag, duh!) have had a whole lot of fun so far: we’ve seen a bunch of local indie games being displayed on a nice big screen(including a cute lil’ Gears of War JRPG) and have FINALLY checked out the demo reveal of community member FuzzySpo0n’s Shadow Racer, as well as the majesty of the truly spectacular Tower of Hats.

We’ve also played some good ol’ analog games including the locally-crafted L4D card game that I mentioned earlier. I’m glad that I finally got to have a go at it, because it’s freaking brilliant. If you have the time, the ink and a printer, you really should print yourself a deck and play with some friends. It feels just like the computer game, which I’d pretty much brand as “mission accomplished”.

Now if only Fengol would grow a spine already and actually admit that he’s made something awesome …

Anyway, more random rAge ramblings after the final day! Keep an eye out on Dev.Mag and NAG Online over the next week for more detailed info on how the expo went, and check out the #GamedotDev tag on Twitter for live updates and funny pictures.
