Adam Saltsman, a Flash developer, TIGSource forum member and extensive Gamasutra blogger, recently released Flixel, a set of ActionScript files that help “organize, automate, and optimize Flash games” – or in other words, a Flash game creation toolkit!
Now, don’t get us wrong. Flash isn’t exactly inaccessible when it comes to game creation, but it’s great to see efforts like these coming from gentlemen like Saltsman. We’re looking forward to giving this toolkit a shot: hopefully it’ll rise to the challenge! If Saltsman’s latest project, Fathom, is anything to go by, it shouldn’t be a problem.
If any readers out there have some interesting Flixel experiences to share with us, be sure to tell us about them.
